02.28.2008

I'm a February boy.
Yeah, today is my birthday, a not-so normal day-not because it is my birthday but because anger did reside in my body.
Take a hike.

Frontliner, Ms. Ninez Cacho-Olivares

In today's "Frontline" column of my idol Ninez Cacho-Olivares entitled "It’s almost over for Gloria" in The Daily Tribune.

By the way, my 23 year-old sister's name was taken from my idol-writer's name. How about that.

So here we go:

"From all indications, it certainly looks like the powerful in Malacañang wanted ZTE-National Broadband Network whistle-blower Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada permanently silenced, and he and his lawyers were certainly right to charge those involved in his abduction for kidnapping and attempted murder.
Lozada’s passport, which had no arrival stamp from the immigration bureau says it all, along with the way he was forcibly whisked out of the planeside area.
This plus the fact that a video showing the assistant airport manager, Angel Atutubo, making a slitting throat gesture, a sign that is usually taken to mean the killing of whatever is to be killed, in that particular instance, to kill the taping showing them with Lozada, makes for a strong case of Malacañang doing away with Lozada — permanently — that is, if Lozada testifies to the truth before the Senate.
And Malacañang is certainly involved — including Gloria, since her Presidential Security Group, which had no business with Lozada, shouldn’t have been anywhere near the airport for Lozada’s arrival.
Had Lozada been killed by these Palace goons, there would have been no evidence of his having returned to the country even if the family members would have reported his disappearances — and of course Lozada wouldn’t have had to give his press conference and his testimony before the Senate would never have happened.
Gloria would have been safe in the big cover-up job and everything would return to normal. The Senate probe would have had to come to yet another incomplete end.
It would have been a similar operation Malacañang performed during the “Hello Garci” exposé. The Palace people quickly got the Isafp agent in the wiretapping operations under their wing, along with his family members, and as they got him to do as they wished, which was to lie and cover-up for them, there was no other choice for the Senate but to keep the probe results hanging.
Also, as long as Lozada was not going to testify, it would have been clear sailing for Gloria and her goons.
After all, Romulo Neri wasn’t going to spill the beans. That much was clear and chances are, even if the Supreme Court rules against him and orders him to heed the summons of the Senate, he is still not likely to make a full confession. Neri is after all, already part of Gloria’s evil coven in Malacañang.
The abduction of Lozada was definitely botched, for one reason or another, and now Gloria and her Malacañang are truly in a panic, knowing the outrage of the Filipino people.
They are certainly in a panic situation these days even as they claim that none of this political noise distracts Gloria from her task of governance.
If so, why does government go to the extent of denying the anti-Arroyo forces a permit to stage a prayer rally in Luneta, then even go to the Sto. Domingo Church to also seek a permit, even when Gloria and her goons knew that the anti-Gloria groups were out to have a mass in that church, if not to prevent them from having such a mass rally?
Now, there is the Malacañang mouthpiece, Cerge Remonde, who says these groups should not use the Mass for their political ends.
That’s really ironic, considering the fact that Gloria herself, in 2000 and early 2001, along with her civil society and bishops, were, at every instance, using the church and the bishops as her props to oust then sitting President Joseph Estrada. What the heck was Edsa I and II if not a religio-political event where whoever sat in Malacañang that the frigging civil society disliked, was deposed unconstitutionally.
What is needed is pressure on both Gloria and Noli de Castro to resign and create a vacancy in the two highest seats and for the Filipino electorate — and not just the frigging elite that are incorrigible in insisting on these types of ousters — to legitimately elect leaders of their choice — even if the choice is one whom the elite dislike.
Gloria can no longer govern. That much is evident. As for Noli, he should resign too. After, he can always run for the presidency in a snap poll instead of just taking over the presidency.
Truth is, Noli won’t be able to govern well either, especially if he has an eye on the 2010 polls, where he will do a Gloria — use up the resources and money of government to win his seat.
Gloria cheated to win the polls that is for certain. Noli was the beneficiary of the fraud and well he knows it.
Besides, Noli continues to support the evil bitch.
And that does not speak well of him as a future leader. "

Guest Appearance

Yesterday, I went to the biggest library in the whole Southern Luzon Region, the O'Brien Library of Ateneo de Naga University, and when I checked the February 21 issue of The Manila Times, the oldest newspaper in the Philippines, my letter to the editor was published-which was edited for brevity and clarity.
Thank You, Jesus!

Here Comes The Sun

Finally the sun realized that he is needed by people. After 4 days of using the clouds as his blanket, he finally showed up.
Prayers are indeed potent (potent is actually the word of the day because my friend kept on saying this base word and adding it with a prefix-"im").
